Of all the places I have been

Through heartache, pain, and sorrow-

Through life and death I have been

My world was never complete-

With all my tears and memories

I shall always love you-

No matter the pain in my life

I stand before God at my end-

I shall be humble for the time

To say I truly loved Him-

Kathlee Gibson

Words From Avid Readers

  • My favorite of Kathleen's books!

“When Angels Touched Me” is my favorite of Kathleen’s books. This one hits home in a deeper more personal way. “A Mother’s Revenge” to me bares’ witness to the horrors of war. So much so I was comforted by the act of the cobra, and I hate, hate, hate, snakes. But I was GLAD it did what it did! Amazing how a poem from this book changes you and pulls your mind into war. Donna

  • An awesome book!

“When Angels Touched Me” is an awesome book. This book is a combination of Kathleen’s previous books. This book would be perfect for someone going through a rough time. Jason

  • An insight into eternal love.

“When Angels Touched Me” Is a very good book for those that need to be reminded of their responsibilities in marriages and families. This is a wonderful self-help book that will remind us of our responsibilities to our loved ones. This book is fantastic and belongs in the hands of everyone so that love stays as it was meant to be, an eternity. Bridget

  • I still want to more to read!!!!

    When Angels Touched Me

First, let me say that I was totally intrigued by each chapter that I read. The words popped off the page at me as if Kathleen was sitting in front of me “talking” not lecturing me about what she seen and done, whether the war was right or wrong or about our politics. Through her words I could visualize each situation she encountered, but not to the extreme of what she had to endure but to a point that I had a better understanding of what she and many others had to go through. Until I read this book I don’t think I ever really had an understanding of what the war was all about or how bad it was for our soldiers. I have never read a poetry book where the author would explain why she wrote the poem before revealing the poem to you. While the poetry was wonderful the stories that lead up to the poem were what kept me wanting to read more and more. I still want more to read!!!! Judy.

  • An excellent collection of poems, reflecting trauma and emotions of a warrior experiences.

When Angel’s Touched Me includes poetry from the Kathleen’s other books of poetry. Her book is an excellent collection of poems that reflects the trauma and emotions of warrior experiences. The essays prior to the poem set the moments that served as the subject of the poetry. The imagery of both the essays and the poetry taken together brings one’s mind to the battlefield setting evoking an emotional response from the reader as the pain or emotion of that moment is understood. One easily visualizes the sandstorms or the emotion of grieving women while reading the book. I look forward to future books of her poetry. Dr. John Adcockes here

  • She has given all warriors a sense of freedom.

I truly believe that those of us who knew, and still know, Kathleen Gibson, also were certain that somewhere in THERE was the essence of a warrior’s spirit crying to be set free! I think that through When Angels Touched Me, she has given all warriors that freedom! Phillip

  • I recommend to all my friends and family.

When Angels Touched Me is a very good read. After I read it, I let my brother-in-law who has PTSD read it and he said, “It felt good to read about someone who’s been there,” he enjoyed it very much. I recommend this to all my friends and family. I even bought my chief of police one. Jason

  • A quest into a warriors inner self.

“When Angels Touched Me” is just that, an embarking, and in so doing a quest into a warriors inner self. Kathleen Gibson is a true soldier, yet a teacher. Like Attila the Hun, . . . we might imagine, would gather his chieftains around a fire in the times of old, sharing stories of victory’s, loses and their pains. In such comradery they would also share wisdom and leadership. Kathleen pulls open the chest of a warrior and reveals their heart. In so doing she exposes that which is greater. Kathleen causes us to pause, to think and reflect.

    Great Job! My Dear Friend

  • See through someone else's heart and their eyes of pain.

It’s been a long time since I have read a book that made me stop between sentences and reflect on my life and the world we live in. When Angels Touched Me, contains many poems that allow one to see through someone else’s heart and their eyes of pain. Those of us who haven’t served owe our own lives and happiness to all of them. I promise you will walk away as I did thankful for her words and ever so thankful for her service. Donna

  • Beautifully written.

When Angels Touched Me: It is hard to imagine the atrocities of war unless you’ve been there. This book makes you feel as though you are in the middle of a war zone. It is frightening and heart-wrenching, as you experience war through the poetry. It opens up the humanistic side of war and terrorism. Yet, somehow, Kathleen leaves you with a sense of hope instead of hopelessness and love instead of hate and anger. Beautifully written. Cindy

  • A wonderful book for the entire family to read.

When Angels Touched Me: From being deployed overseas to humanity’s biggest problems, the unwillingness to forgive and how easy it is to hate one another. For those of you that have loved ones who have fought for our country or public service, it is a wonderful book for the entire family to read. Taylor.

  • Excellent and true!

When Angels Touched Me: Excellent and true! The feelings of a lot of people who have experienced combat. Gary
